East African impact accelerator GrowthAfrica today showcased 12 agribusiness startups to investors, development partners and financiers in a bid to secure partnerships and funding to scale their social and financial impact.
The event, which took place at the Agribusiness Venture Forum at the Strathmore Business School in Nairobi, saw entrepreneurs graduating from the 18-week GrowthAfrica Agribusiness Accelerator showcase their products and services.
Speaking at the event, the chief guest and chief executive officer (CEO) of Athi River Mining Pradeep Paunrana advised entrepreneurs to be “honest”.
“It’s not just about viable business models, trust sets the pace in funding discussions and negotiations ” he said.
“I met talented energetic entrepreneurs with life changing ideas and sound business models at GrowthAfrica Agribusiness Venture Forum.”
GrowthAfrica CEO Johnni Kjelsgaard said: “The Agribusiness Venture Forum helps entrepreneurs showcase business, initiate funding discussions and cultivate great relationships with investors.”
