African Leadership Network (ALN) is to host a workshop marking Global Entrepreneurship Week, with participants to learn about how to scale a business internationally within Africa.
The event will take place on November 19 in Johannesburg, South Africa, although ALN will partner with organisations from across Africa where local entrepreneurs will be able to participate in the workshop virtually.
“It’s a workshop on how to expand your business across Africa—wherein we’ll emphasize that it’s never too early to think about your international prospects,” said James Loss-Wells of ALN Ventures.
The event is hosted in collaboration with Impact Hub Johannesburg – where the event will be held – and is also supported by the Association of Allan Gray Orbis Fellows.
Those interested in participating can apply via the ALN website, while a list of participating locations across Africa can also be viewed on the site.
The event sees ALN branch out from its popular “Buildathon” workshop series – half day workshops held across Africa, helping entrepreneurs to “turbocharge their businesses” through lessons on refining business definition, market research, and investor engagement.
The most recent Buildathon took place in Lagos in October, following a successful workshop in Johannesburg in September; with ALN targeting an East African Buildathon next, dependent on interest from partners and the public.
