South African social mobile app Trender has launched on the Apple App Store for the first time, making available its free location-based photo app that shows what places are trending and where friends are meeting in real-time.
Trender ranks trends based on people who have checked in and ranks users based on photos taken and activity on the app. Users are able to browse lists of venues in order of popularity based on real-time check-ins.
Users can create their own trend anywhere with their own name featured on it, and invite friends, take and share photos of trends in real-time, see which friends are going to which trends and how many people are there right now.
“Trender provides users with a real-time guide to popular gigs and allows them to see where friends are gathering right now. Trender ranks popular venues as a trend and allows users to view the most popular venues displayed in an interactive list,” Trender joint-chief executive officer (CEO) Calvin Terblanche said.
Socialites can browse trends by category including nightlife, bars, and restaurants, and see what their friends and other people are doing in real-time.
Terblanche said Trender ensures you are in the right place at the right time, with users able to view the top trends for the past week and see the gender ratio at a particular trend.
