Cape Town’s entrepreneurs are set to gather this year at StartUp Christmas, a new initiative aimed at promoting and celebrating a year of startup activity.
Hosted by local startups PayFast, ShopStar and StoneTree, the StartUp Christmas event hopes to celebrate activity in the startup space in South Africa over the past 12 months, and bring together the entrepreneurs contributing to the ecosystem.
“We were talking about the incredible amount that has happened in the startup space in Cape Town in the last twelve months and how we could best bid farewell to it. No pitches; just a party to celebrate our joint contributions,” said Werner van Rooyen of PayFast.
“We hope that you can make it. It’s going to be fun – much more fun than you, two other devs and shot of tequila. Promise.”
The event – to be held on December 11 – will feature food, a cash bar, a lucky draw and other entertainment, and guests are also invited to arrive early for a swim.
Tickets are limited, with up to 40 tickets to be released next week. Those interested in attending can register via the StartupChristmas website.
