The first West African Gaming Expo (WAGE) is set to begin in Lagos, Nigeria, tomorrow, bringing together African and international game makers.
The organisers said the conference aims to showcase African arts and culture, while also exhibiting international developments in the gaming market.
Attendees will be given the chance to test-play the leading PC, console, mobile and arcade games, as well as participate in the workshops and tutorials hosting by successful game developers.
“WAGE 2014 is set to be a fun day out for the family. Exhibitors will be displaying games for all age ranges whilst creating an atmosphere where people can be inspired and persuaded to try new things. We believe this is the catalyst to kick start the African gaming revolution,” the organisers said.
The conference and tutorials will see leading game developers and designers educate the audience on how to get the most out of various softwares, while also speaking on current trends in the sector.
Developers will also be showcasing their latest releases.
Attendees are expected from Thailand, Taiwan, China, France, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States, and Nigeria.
Those interested in attending the event can register online, with tickets costing NGN1,500 (US$8) for both the conference and expo.
