iROKOtv partnered Vodafone Ghana to provide its content to the operator’s subscribers for as low as GHS20 (US$6) per month, the second content deal it has announced with an African operator in as many days.
Disrupt Africa reported yesterday the Nigerian video-on-demand (VoD) company had partnered Tigo Rwanda to provide free video entertainment to the operator’s 4G/LTE subscribers.
The company has now confirmed another partnership, with iROKOtv co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Jason Njoku tweeting today: “Testing, testing – Vodafone Ghana and iROKOtv – SVOD monetisation isn’t as simple as some think. Experimentation mode.”
Though it seems the Vodafone partnership will cost subscribers a nominal amount, the Tigo deal provided subscribers with one month of free access to the iROKOtv library, which contains over 4,000 movies and TV series from around the world.
