The second edition of global startup competition Hello Tomorrow has opened applications, with African startups invited to apply for the chance to win a total of EUR200,000 (US$235,000) in prize money.
The competition – organised by non-profit organisation Hello Tomorrow – is dedicated to innovative technologies, and will reward the best project “in search of major sectors of tomorrow’s economy”.
Startups and research projects which based on an innovative technology, less than two years old and with less than EUR250,000 (US$294,000) in funding are welcome to apply, after which the winning startup will walk away with the EUR100,000 (US$117,000) grand prize and six runners-up with EUR15,000 (US$17,000) each.
“In 2014, we organised the first edition of the Hello Tomorrow Challenge, a global competition of tech startups in Europe and the “First Day of Tomorrow” Conference, which gathered more than 1,500 participants at “La Cité des Sciences” in Paris on April 2014,” Hello Tomorrow said.
The first edition of the Hello Tomorrow Challenge last year saw 1,200 applicants from 44 countries, with the current application window open until February 28.
