Kenya’s iHub is to host a workshop on drone technology tomorrow, January 15, the results of which will be used by a group of Harvard, MIT and Kenyan experts to guide their discussions.
According to iHub, drone technology could serve as Africa’s next “leap frog” technology, with many hobbyists and entrepreneurs already exploring the potential for innovation using drones.
However, iHub says there is a lack of specialised network in Kenya to deal with the development of regulation and technical support for drone technology; prompting tomorrow’s workshop, which aims to bring together those already active in the field.
The free event takes place at the iHub premises tomorrow, from 9am.
On Friday, January 16, a group of Harvard university and MIT researchers will meet with Kenya’s thought-leaders and innovators, with the outcomes of tomorrow’s workshop to lead their discussions on the future of Kenya’s technology and drone ecosystem.
Those wishing to attend the workshop must register for tickets.
