The Africa Summit organised by Sankalp Forum is returning to Nairobi, Kenya next month after a successful inauguration in the city last year.
The event is taking place on February 5-6 at the Strathmore Business School, and is looking to match or better the 450 delegates from 25 countries that attended the first event.
Last year’s event saw 11 commitments to due diligence from investors to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region.
“Sankalp Africa Summit 2015 is focused on accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship towards an inclusive Africa,” Sankalp Forum said.
“At the summit, we will celebrate 10 African social businesses through the prestigious Sankalp Africa Awards. Taking last year’s conversation one step forward, the summit this year will witness action-oriented discussions and dialogue among African entrepreneurs, investors, corporates and government representatives.
Aside from the awards ceremony, the event will also include an Innovation Lab, where young African innovators and engineers will demonstrate their innovations in the development space.
Afrilabs and Intellecap will also jointly host a workshop to explore innovative solutions to create a supportive ecosystem for entrepreneurs, while speakers will include Kenya Television Network (KTN) talk show host Jeff Koinange, WoeLab executive manager Dodji Honou, Aavishkaar Micro Venture Capital Fund founder Vineet Rai, Rockefeller Foundation managing director for Africa Mamadou Biteye, Intellecap chief executive officer (CEO) Anurag Agrawal, and Tony Elumelu Foundation director of entrepreneurship Parminder Vir.
