The LaunchLab Lift-Off accelerator is set to begin on February 2, with South African tech-driven entrepreneurs invited to participate in the 14-week training programme.
The programme sees participants complete seven modules designed to improve their entrepreneurship skills and give their startups the biggest chance of success.
The seven modules to be completed are an introduction to entrepreneurship, marketing, finance and operations, three fieldwork modules, and a period allowing for the preparation of a final presentation.
While applicants can opt to take part in specific modules, only those completing all seven modules will be eligible to pitch for ZAR15,000 (US$1,300) in funding, at the end of the programme.
“With this programme the LaunchLab wishes to take entrepreneurs to a new level, by giving them the necessary tools to build sustainable businesses or if they already have sustainable businesses, give them tools to remedy any weak points that may be present in their current businesses,” LaunchLab said.
The programme will run from February 2 until May 8; with participants charged ZAR5,000 (US$434) plus VAT to take part.
According to last year’s participant Monte Maputla, “You can almost equate [the programme]to a mini MBA.”
