Ghanaian incubator the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) has partnered mobile operator Vodafone Ghana to hold a hackathon encouraging the development of solutions that improve access to information, simplify transactions and shorten process.
The hackathon, for which registration is free, begins on February 5, and is a 48-hour event designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs.
“The weekend event is centred on action, innovation, and education. Beginning with Thursday morning pitches and continuing through testing, business model development, and basic prototype creation, the event will climax on Saturday with demos to a panel of potential investors and local entrepreneurs,” MEST and Vodafone Ghana said.
“Participants are challenged with building functional startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks.”
Software developers, workers, students, entrepreneurs or freelancers with ideas or solutions that respond to convenience and making life simpler for Ghanaians are encouraged to apply.
