Applications have opened for the 2015 edition of the 2015 South Africa SMME Awards, which take place on June 4 and recognise the important role small, micro and medium enterprises play in the country’s economy.
The awards are open to any South Africa-registered company that has been in operation for at least two years, employs less than 200 people, and has an annual turnover of less than ZAR30 million (US$2.5 million).
“The idea behind the awards is to identify and recognise the best performing SMMEs in our country. The award ceremony showcases the country’s best SMMEs in the trade, services and industrial sectors. The overall winner will be crowned as the South African SMME of the Year,” the organisers said.
The one-day conference and awards ceremony will take place at the Lord Charles Hotel, Somerset West, Cape Town, and SMMEs have until February 28 to apply.
