Egyptian co-working space District to host Xpand Summit for SMEs

Cairo-based co-working space District Egypt will host the Xpand Summit at the end of this month, a two-day event focused on scaling up small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through financial solutions.

District Egypt, which opened its 1,000sq/km co-working space in 2011, has announced the Xpand Summit will take place on February 25-26.

The company said Xpand will provide startups and SMEs with hands-on practical financial solutions to assist them in scaling up using traditional and non-traditional solutions that exists in local and regional markets.

“With more than 200 ventures and financial solution providers from Egypt and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Xpand features banks, venture capitalists (VCs), investors, private equity, leasing and factoring companies in a unique platform where interactions, knowledge, exchange best practices in finance happens,” District Egypt said.

Scheduled speakers include vice president of the World Association for SMEs Dr Khaled Nagaty, general manager of GroFin Egypt Ahmed Gomaa, manager for the SME sector at the National Bank of Egypt (EBI) Mohsen Ismail Abou-Bakr, Cairo Angels founder Hossam Allam, and District founder Mazen Helmy.
