Online hotel booking platform Jovago has partnered the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) to integrate booking between KTB’s destination website Magical Kenya and Jovago.
The two organisations said the partnership would go a long way in enhancing online campaigns aimed at improving Kenya’s brand equity.
KTB managing director Muriithi Ndegwa said the partnership will offer a platform for hoteliers to receive booking from different clients owing to greater visibility.
“This online booking will guarantee a good visibility of different brands and to clients with varied preference and choice,” said Ndegwa.
“We are delighted about this partnership which will definitely support the growth of the tourism industry by making it easier and cheaper to travel to Kenya. Jovago.com features over 1,000 verified accommodation in Kenya. The rates are already negotiated, with even a greater advantage for residents, therefore supporting local tourism,” said Estelle Verdier, managing director of Jovago.
Jovago has signed a number of partnerships recently, notably with HotelsCombined, a number of Nigerian bus companies and two Ghanaian airlines, while it also launched a best price guarantee on Nigerian hotels.
It also announced a partnership with Tanzanian telecoms firm Tigo to allow users of the operator’s Tigo Pesa service to pay for their accommodation using mobile money.
