African Leadership Network (ALN) is to host its sixth annual gathering in Morocco in November, marking the first time the event will be held in North Africa.
The gathering brings together ALN members to network and build relationships, and aims to promote pan-African collaboration and drive African prosperity.
“We applaud Morocco’s efforts to integrate economically with its neighbors across the continent through its pan-African investment strategies. King Mohammed VI has taken many tours across Africa to identify investment opportunities, and Moroccan firms have a presence in dozens of African countries,” said ALN.
“As a country that lives on the crossroads of a rich cultural heritage and a bright, modern future, Morocco is an exciting place to watch.”
The gathering will also see the participants in this year’s inaugural ALN Ventures accelerator programme present their companies to investors, following nine months of incubation.
Disrupt Africa reported in January ALN Ventures announced it had selected nine startups for its first accelerator, having received over 275 applications from across Africa.
Previous ALN annual gatherings have hosted the Africa Awards for Entrepreneurship, established by the Legatum Group nine years ago. The awards usually see awards over US$200,000 in prize money distributed to outstanding African entrepreneurs who demonstrate business excellence and social impact.
This year’s event will be held between November 3 and 7.
