Tech entrepreneurs in East Africa have until Monday to submit their innovation for the ICT Innovation Awards, with winners to be recognised at the Connected East Africa conference.
The ICT Innovation Awards acknowledge those companies using ICT in an innovative way for positive impact in the community.
Applicants must be able to show their products or services use ICT in a way that is new and unique; must be able to demonstrate an existing or potential positive impact on the target community, and have an innovative strategy for market share growth; as well as the product or service being creative and user-friendly in its delivery.
To be eligible to apply, companies must have a product or service aimed at East African citizens as end users; and must use ICT in a “unique and effective” way.
Winners will be presented with their awards on April 1, at the Connected East Africa conference to be held in Diani, Kenya.
Innovators can submit their products and services for consideration online until Monday, March 15.
Those companies that were exhibitors at the recent ICT Innovation Forum held in Nairobi last week – which saw innovators showcase their companies at a concurrent expo fair – are automatically entered for the awards.
