By Tom Jackson on March 24, 2015 Events, Southern Africa

South African business support firm The Innovation Hub will be hosting the Soweto Open Innovation Challenge on Monday, March 30, with today (March 24) the last chance for Soweto-based entrepreneurs to apply.

The Innovation Hub is looking for solutions from Sowetan entrepreneurs in the fields of renewable energy, manufacturing, information technology and communications, which will then participate in a series of open innovation ideation workshops between March and May 2015.

“The (first) workshop will seek innovative solutions to needs identified by a minimum of three challenge owners in relation to biofuel geysers, bus shelters, and distribution models for printer consumables,” The Innovation Hub said.

Entrepreneurs will be offered the opportunity to partner with or become a supplier to one of the challenge owners, while early-stage proposals and emerging entrepreneurs may be eligible for incubation with The Innovation Hub.

Entrepreneurs and innovative organisations can apply to participate by submitting profile information to soic@theinnovationhub.com by the end of today.
