The third Hub Africa conference has begun in Casablanca, Morocco, with entrepreneurs and investors collaboratinh to build the investment ecosystem in Africa.
Disrupt Africa reported in February the event was set to take place, involving a delegation from the French Business Movement (MEDEF), a “Saga Africa” caravan composed of young West African entrepreneurs, and 10,000 participants and visitors from 30 countries.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by M. Salaheddine Mezouar, Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, with the event taking place under the slogan “Believe in Africa, Invest in Africa”.
“Hub Africa federates public and private organisations, banks, funding agencies, investors and support organisations, funding organisations and project leaders, young entrepreneurs and seasoned national and international entrepreneurs,” the organisers said.
“The main objective is to create, in two days, a favourable ecosystem to investment and entrepreneurship.”
The organisers said Africa was seeing “unprecedented growth momentum”, with fewer conflicts, increasing political stability and and growing strengths in various sectors.
