Senegalese incubator CTIC Dakar over the weekend hosted a partners event updating stakeholders on its future plans, which include an extension to its current building to allow it to offer more services.
CTIC Dakar – which has featured prominently on Disrupt Africa in the past – said it has ambitious development plans in order to boost its impact of startups, growth, job creation and Senegal’s digital economy.
“To achieve these ambitious goals, the support of many partners will be essential and more involvement is now required to grow the incubator and its supportive capacity,” the hub said.
Partners include operator Sonatel, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, the City of Dakar, the Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of France, and La Gaite Lyrique, a French cultural incubator.
“Each partner is aware of the incubator’s achievements and is committed to support its development plan,” said CTIC Dakar, which also confirmed that it plans to enlarge the incubator through a building extension to coach more enterprises.
Disrupt Africa reported last month CTIC Dakar had partnered the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) to offer selected startups access to loans to help them grow their businesses.
The incubator said the partnership with national fundraising bank BNDE would assist small Senegalese businesses in obtaining loans, with BNDE to assist startups with their business plans beforehand.
CTIC Dakar told Disrupt Africa it was in discussions with a number of other potential partners in order to implement initiatives to assist Senegalese startups.
