Cape Town-based online platform MasterStart has launched, providing an interactive e-commerce course created by a team of local entrepreneurs to help people in setting up online stores.
MasterStart takes a “learn from the experts” approach, teaching candidates to create their own store and equipping them with the skills required to operate their shops, market them effectively and manage them efficiently.
“It’s a practical launch pad for becoming fully self-employed. MasterStart hopes to facilitate the growth of small, independent businesses in South Africa and to encourage local talent to embrace entrepreneurship,” MasterStart said.
The course has been created by industry experts and is endorsed by Nic Haralambous, serial entrepreneur and the founder of NicHarry.com.
“I think we’re on the cusp of something in South Africa and MasterStart is positioned right at the heart of the movement. That movement is e-commerce business,” said Haralambous.
“I get at least one email a week, either from a business or an individual, asking me how to start a business online or how to make a business more e-commerce relevant. MasterStart walks people through the most difficult parts of starting an online business, and then helps you grow once you’ve started.”
Learners on MasterStart will have 12 months access to the e-commerce course, as well as telephonic support and access to support forums. The site offers a simple online learner management system, audio playback of course notes, downloadable course notes and infographics, downloadable checklists, business documents and legal templates, as well as three online mentorship sessions with MasterStart’s expert team members and six-month complimentary access to an online selling platform.
