ImpactLabs, an initiative launched by students and graduates of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University, is returning to Nigeria for the second year, offering a free skills accelerator to school children and students.
Applications are now open for ImpactLabs, which is running this year in collaboration with the Technology Innovation Lab (TIL) at Bells University of Technology in Ogun State. The accelerator will run under the theme of “Health, Sanitation, and Agriculture”.
“We bring varied expertise in engineering design, software, and biomedical engineering. During the 2015 summer camp, the participants will gain hands-on experience combining techniques in software and engineering design into real-life technology in health, agriculture and/or sanitation. These projects are expected to be of immediate impact and relevance to a community in Nigeria,” ImpactLabs said.
The residential programme is open to Nigerians in senior secondary school or university, with all concentrations welcome.
“We encourage applicants with an interest in engineering, computer science, health and business,” ImpactLabs said.
