Hello Pretty is pleased to announce the launch of their re-designed website, which has been optimised for use by the mobile customer. The redesign sees the new site as fully responsive, with a more powerful search engine and dozens of new categories to cater for the 19 000-plus currently listed products.
The company has stressed the importance of their sellers time and again. Hot on the heels of the release of their store embed feature Pretty Portable, the team set their sights on streamlining the site to make a seamless user experience for both customers and sellers.
“With our mobile traffc crossing the fifty percent mark of our overall traffic, it became clear that we had to refine the site’s usability to target users looking to shop, browse, and share from those devices,” says head of strategy and social, Lee Geldenhuys. “We look to global ecommerce trends for inspiration, and while over a third of the site visitors are international, we’re most excited to see how South African consumers respond.”
Over and above the responsive design, search features and new categories, the most noticeable change will be the much larger images and the human-curated homepage.
“Designers aren’t selling products – they’re selling photos,” mentions Geldenhuys. “Greater image quality is of the utmost importance in online shopping, as customers rely on them in lieu of seeing and touching the products in person.”
Sellers will also be able to add subcategories to their stores, which will be especially helpful to those who produce ranges of products – for example: a fashion designer might have sections for Dresses, Skirts, Shirts and Belts.
In its third year of operations, Hello Pretty continues to strive for excellence and innovation in the South African ecommerce space, focusing on assisting the growth of other local small businesses.
