Tickets have gone on sale for PIVOT East 2015, which will see 25 startups pitch their products and solutions in front of investors in a bid for funding.
Attendance of the one-day event – which will take place at the Panari Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya on July 22 – costs US$50, with tickets available here.
Disrupt Africa reported last month 25 finalists had been chosen in five categories to pitch at the East African mobile startups pitching competition, with all the startups currently undergoing training in advance of the event itself.
Five finalists have been selected in each of five categories – Mobile Finance, Mobile Enterprise, Mobile Entertainment, Mobile Utilities and Mobile Society and Governance. PIVOT East is organised by m:lab East Africa – a consortium comprising iHub, eMobilis, University of Nairobi and the World Wide Web Foundation.
“This year’s conference is designed to facilitate maximum interaction and networking between startup founders, investors and other industry players. The finalists of the competition will have demo pits at the exhibition area where they will showcase their products to the investors and interested delegates,” PIVOT East said.
There are only a limited number of tickets available for the event, with the organisers encouraging interested parties to reserve their space at the earliest opportunity. Those that do attend with hear pitches from 25 startups, including 17 from Kenya, six from Tanzania, and one each from Uganda and Rwanda.
