Hong Kong-based startup accelerator Nest, which announced its expansion into Africa this month, has launched a speaker series in Nairobi aimed at sparking disruptive ideas and conversations around the topic “What’s Next”.
Disrupt Africa reported earlier this month Nest, which services early-stage, high growth businesses, opened an office in Nairobi, which the company will use to roll out accelerator programmes and invest in startups across Africa.
The company has 48 investments across the world so far, and will use its Nairobi office as a launchpad for activities elsewhere on the continent.
Nest has now announced it will hold the first edition of its “What’s Next” speaker series at The Foundry in Westlands tomorrow (July 29th) from 6pm, with the first event focused on the fashion and beauty sector.
“We are bringing the best in online and the offline world; in creative and design, art and tech, e-commerce and retail and venture capital to discuss trends, share experiences and industry insights,” the firm said.
Representatives from RiRi Jewelry and Dambala Sabaquo are set to appear in a discussion moderated by Nikhil N. Patel, regional manager for East and Central Africa at Mi-Fone.
