Kenya-based startup accelerator Nest is to hold a one-day Idea to Pitch Bootcamp in Nairobi on August 22, offering startups and entrepreneurs training in design, business planning and communications.
Disrupt Africa reported last month Nest, which services early-stage, high growth businesses, opened an office in Nairobi, which the company will use to roll out accelerator programmes and invest in startups across Africa.
It has already been busy in the weeks since, launching speaker series “What’s Next” and inviting African startups to apply to join its smart cities accelerator in Hong Kong. Two African companies – Kenya’s SuperFluid and South Africa’s creditable – are already taking part in another Hong Kong programme, held in conjunction with DBS Bank.
Nest is now inviting ambitious Kenyan entrepreneurs to apply for to participate in the Idea to Pitch Bootcamp, which will take place at The Foundry in Nairobi. Applications close at the end of today.
The bootcamp is designed for professionals and founders, scalable startups and for-profit businesses at all stages, and will see case studies and tactics presented by experienced professionals and leading design agencies. Participants will gain hands-on knowledge from seasoned experts and feedback from peers through the breakout sessions.
Frog Design, Nendo, Ogilvy One, Brand 2D and Taylor – Dube Consulting will be presenting at the bootcamp.
“The aim of the bootcamp is to help founders refine their ideas, understand their businesses and communicate their vision. Nest has assembled a star studded cast because we believe something great happens at the intersection of technology, business and creative,” said Aaron Fu, Nest managing partner for Africa.
