AutoGenius.com overhauls platform

Nigerian online car insurance brokerage startup AutoGenius.com has overhauled its platform, introducing a range of new features aimed at further simplifying the auto insurance market.

Disrupt Africa reported AutoGenius.com launched in a bid to disrupt the insurance market in Nigeria, aiming to see all of the country’s estimated 12 million uninsured cars insured via the platform.

Co-founder and chief operations officer (COO) Gbenro Dara explained long processes to purchase an insurance package, and an active fake insurance industry have suppressed the market in Nigeria – something the startup intends to change through its mobile and online platform.

The platform allows users to search for insurance packages, get quotes, and compare packages. Users can then buy their favoured package via the platform, and receive instant SMS official confirmation from the authorities guaranteeing the authenticity of the product purchased.

AutoGenius.com has now announced an early overhaul of its platform, in response to customer feedback.

The startup said the site’s newly simplified look, combined with enhanced content, and optimization for mobile devices, will allow consumers better access to auto insurance online.

The new functionalities include the ability to choose an insurer directly instead of comparing; automatic renewal reminders when insurance packages expire; real-time client advisory on claims and inspection process; automated claims process; and same-day customer car inspection – to name a few.

“The new website was created with the user experience firmly in mind. This is a result of talking with customers and gaining valuable feedback” says Kola Oyeneyin, chief executive officer (CEO) of AutoGenius’ parent company, Venia Technologies.

“We are excited to be able to provide the ultimate user-friendly experience with improved navigation and functionality which enables customers access auto insurance products easily.”
