TEDxPretoria set for November

0
By Gabriella Mulligan on October 14, 2015 Events, Southern Africa

Short-talk series TED is returning to Pretoria in November, with a lineup of South African business and thought leaders to present on the topic of movement.

This year marks the third time a TEDxPretoria event will be held; with the Innovation Hub to host the event on November 12.

The topic for this year’s conference is movement – personal and social, mental and physical – with techies, entrepreneurs, thought-leaders, and performers to explore the importance and impact of radical ideas and fast change.

A number of presenters and their talk topics have already been confirmed.

Technology entrepreneur Emmanuels Magaya will draw from his many years of experience in IT to make the case for technology as a means to transform science and maths education.

Broadcaster Busisiwe Gumede will be challenging the traditional media to switch focus and direction as they compete for younger eyes and ears in a device-dominated world.

Entrepreneur and UN global youth ambassador Dennis Ngango will share his experiences and ideas for unleashing the potential of Africa’s youthful population.

Trend analyst Pierre du Plessis will deliver his take on emerging trends and the opportunities for positive change in a “time of chaos”.

The lead sponsor for this year’s event is Standard Bank, with support from the Innovation Hub, and Blank Canvas International.

Tickets are available here, although the event is limited to 100 attendees.
