Healthcare Innovation and Technology Lab (HITLAB) has issued a final call for applications for its HITLAB World Cup, with up to US$18,000 in prize money up for grabs for healthcare focused startups.
The HITLAB World Cup is a worldwide competition which aims to identify original ideas for improving healthcare access and delivery, with applications open to innovators across the world.
Teams can submit their application online until October 23, whereafter semi-finalists will be selected to participate in three regional events – the African event set for Ghana on November 6; with further events in India and Europe.
Finalists from each of the regional events will progress to showcase their innovations in New York in December, at the HITLAB Innovators Summit, and will stand the chance to win up to US$18,000 in funding.
The Summit will also offer the opportunity to listen to presentations by industry leaders, and network with international sector players.
Each submission must have a maximum of three team members and include an idea for technologies at any stage of development or market-readiness; a minimum of a prototype or a proof-of-concept; and a business plan or model.
Applications will be judged based on impact, innovation, sustainability and feasibility.
