Kenyan online startups Kopo Kopo and PigiaMe have announced a partnership aimed at supporting small and medium enterprise (SME) clients by giving them more reach and favourable rates.
Independent merchant network Kopo Kopo and classifieds platform PigiaMe said the move is significant as it underlines the growing opportunity of leveraging data to help businesses grow and prosper.
The partnership will offer Kenyan businesses greater access to secure transactions, reduced operating costs, and increased brand recognition, important in an era where an increasing number of transactions are made online or via mobile payment services such as M-Pesa.
SME clients of Kopo Kopo and PigiaMe will be able to reach clients at a lower cost, keep customers informed through SMS campaigns, target specific audience groups, and readily accessing credit.
“Both platforms are designed to connect people, whether individuals or merchants. In the end our customers all want the same: trading quality, safely and easily. To increase the safety of transactions and their ease of use is what we now partnered for,” said Clemens Weitz, head of classifieds at Ringier, PigiaMe’s parent company.
