Nigerian jobs platform Jobberman has put its backing behind local internship marketplace Stutern, opening up access to its more than 45,000 employer relationships for Stutern’s use and assisting it with marketing.
The arrangement sees Stutern become an exclusive partner of Jobberman for internship placements, with the startup to rebrand as “Stutern by Jobberman”. Financials are undiclosed.
“We have one focus. It is internships. Get experience, get skills, get paid.” said Taiwo Ayanleye, co-founder of Stutern.
“An interesting thing about our vision at Stutern is that our solution for Nigeria will be expanding to other emerging economies, and that’s why we are excited about a partnership with Jobberman. And that is where we are headed.”
Opeyemi Awoyemi, co-founder of Jobberman, said the company was happy to have Stutern on board as a partner.
“Employment and employability are very huge problems in developing countries and we need to attack them from different angles,” he said. “This partnership will enable us to do more faster.”
Stutern said it will soon be announcing a number of other partnerships with universities and leading governmental organisations in order to intensify their reach to undergraduates.
