The BMCE Group Bank of Africa has announced the second edition of the African Entrepreneurship Award, which aims to foster entrepreneurship in Africa by rewarding talent and technology beyond borders.
The African Entrepreneurship Award aims to support entrepreneurs from Africa or of African origin, and receives funding of US$1 million reward the best African entrepreneurs in three categories: education, environment and untapped domains.
Its first edition received more than 5,000 applications from 54 countries, and the application process for this year’s edition runs until May 7.
Successful applicants will be asked to sell their projects with convincing presentations prior to the final selection. Project nomination is carried out with the assistance of entrepreneurs, academics, leaders and mentors from across the globe.
Through the second edition of the awards, BMCE Bank of Africa said it is reasserting its social and responsible commitment to support young entrepreneurs in their pursuit to create jobs and make Africans’ lives better.
