Johannesburg-based development consultancy New Generation Mindset has opened applications for its Western Cape incubator programme, seeking black-owned startups in need of support and training.
New Generation Mindset is based in Johannesburg but runs programmes across various provinces in South Africa, through strategic partnerships with local government entities, the private sector and communities.
The organisation believes through this approach it creates an enabling environment for sustainable businesses and boosts the government’s efforts to create a more inclusive economic participation.
Its incubator programme is funded by clients in the agriculture, mining, energy and ICT sectors, with startups in these sectors invited to apply. The three-year programme includes specific training, workshops, mentoring and business support in order to ensure sustainable enterprises that are able to serve these sectors as suppliers.
“There are no ‘Dragons’, ‘Sharks’ or quick fix solutions, here you will find a group of committed individuals dedicated to growing startups and developing sustainable enterprises in South Africa,” New Generation Mindset said.
“Whilst funding is key for most startups, without the necessary business knowledge, support and training, chances of survival for small enterprises are slim.”
