The organisers of DEMO Africa have confirmed the speaker list for this month’s event, with speaker from Microsoft, Seedstars World, Nest and Goodwell Investments among those passing on their knowledge to African startups.
Disrupt Africa reported last month 30 startups from across the continent had been selected to launch their products at DEMO Africa, which is it is fifth year and gracing South Africa for the first time on August 22-26.
The initiative has hosted 150 startups in the past four years, raising more than US$14 million in both investment and business value. This year’s event will feature some of the most prominent investors and entrepreneurs from Africa, as well as a DealZone where investors and entrepreneurs can have investment discussions.
Speakers, meanwhile, have been named, including Amrote Abdella, regional director for Africa initiatives at Microsoft, Seedstars World regional manager for Africa Marcello Schermer, World Wide Worx boss Arthur Goldstuck, and Chanzo Capital managing partner Eric Osiakwan.
Also speaking are Stuff Magazine editor Toby Shapshak, Wim van der Beek of Goodwell Investments, Harry Hare of DEMO Africa, Nest Africa managing partner Aaron Fu, and Vincent Kouwenhoven, founder of the eVA Fund.
