Applications are open to the Pitch AgriHack competition for tech-based startups providing services to agriculture, with winners to secure cash prizes of up to EUR15,000 (US$16,750).
The Pitch AgriHack competition – hosted by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation ACP-EU (CTA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB), supported by numerous partners – is open to young ICT startups from African, Caribbean and Pacific countries, offering services to the agriculture sector.
Entrepreneurs must be aged under 35 years old, have an already developed e-agriculture/ICT4Ag application or platform, with the competition divided into two categories: early stage – for solutions which have been developed but still need software or business model improvements; and advanced – for startups already in operation and generating revenues.
Startups selected for the competition will be invited to join a business training bootcamp prior to participating in the pitching event, both to take place in November in Nairobi, Kenya.
Winning teams at the Pitch AgriHack event will receive a cash prize of up to EUR15,000 (US$16,750), as well as promotional support, additional capacity building and networking opportunities.
Applications are available here, until September 25.
