Nigerian startup MyJobMag, which launched in 2012 offering recruitment services, has expanded to Kenya.
MyJobMag, launched by Ogugua Belonwu, has established itself as one of the top three jobs sites in Nigeria since its formation, offering tips, a simple application process and a CV builder to users.
It launched its Kenyan platform at the start of the month, and is now working on building up its daily traffic. It will compete with the likes of BrighterMonday, Duma Works and Kama Kazi in the Kenyan market.
Belonwu said excellent User experience, timely content, and a good search functionality were vital components of the MyJobMag offering.
“We conducted a survey on the bottlenecks jobseekers experience while using job websites. From the survey, 67 per cent of respondents complained of job search clutter and noise. Based on these results, we tailored an excellent job search experience,” he said.
For employers, the platform offers easy candidate filtering, plus the ability to download applications and send interview invitations. The startup is working on new features and services for the Kenyan platform.
“Currently, our monetisation model is advert-based, and we will explore other revenue models as we launch other HR products,” said Belonwu.
