Global early-stage startups competition Seedstars World has announced the 10 startups that will pitch at its event in Nairobi, Kenya on Friday, October 7, with the winner destined to represent Kenya at the global event in Switzerland.
Seedstars World has already selected winners in Egypt, Tunisia, South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Nigeria,Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda, and will now hold its Kenyan event at PAWA 254.
The winner will head to the global final next year to pitch alongside other startups from across the world for the chance to win up to US$1 million in equity investment.
The selected startups include blockchain fintech app Lakt co, insurance solution OptiSmart Solutions, on-demand farming course provider Kuza, AML solution provider Ujuzi Software Solutions, and payments startup Flexpay Technologies.
Road maintenance solution Mobilized Construction, agritech startup Farmers Pride, cloud company Olivine Technology, tuition loan provider Student Finance Africa (SFA) and savings startup iNuka Pap complete the list.
The Kenyan competition is taking place with the support of main sponsor CFC Stanbic Bank and local ambassador Douglas Ogeto of The Founders Hive.
