KPMG is to host a fintech summit in Lagos next month, bringing together banks, fintech startups and investors to discuss developments in the space and find ways of working together.

The summit will take place on November 22, with KPMG saying it will be hosted under the theme “The Fintech Disruption – Understanding the Value Proposition”.

“The KPMG Fintech Summit 2016 will attract a variety of top level decision makers and audiences from across West Africa’s leading financial service institutions – specifically banks, insurance companies, private equity and venture capital firms, and regulators amongst other stakeholders with interest in the Fintech space,” the company said.

“The Fintech Summit comprises conference sessions featuring KPMG and industry thought leaders, demo sessions by Fintechs and networking opportunities.”

Areas of focus for the event include financial inclusion, lending and financing, payments and transfers, wealth management and personal finance, insurance, blockchain, cybersecurity, and customer analytics.

Fintechs startups attending the event will have the opportunity to present at demo sessions, raise awareness of their brand, and meet with potential clients and investors. Investors, meanwhile, can gain a deeper understanding of the players within the fintech ecosystem, gain insight into the future outlook for financial services, and identify funding opportunities.
