The Riversands Incubation Hub in Johannesburg has partnered the National Empowerment Fund (NEF) to host its inaugural FundEX event on November 16, which will showcase a wide spectrum of funders and investment providers to startups and entrepreneurs.
The one-day conference and expo, which will take place at Riversands Incubation Hub, aims to expose entrepreneurs to the many funding and personal wealth creation opportunities available.
It will also feature an investment and savings programme to showcase accessible investment opportunities available with advice from credible financial professionals. This includes evaluating BEE share schemes, investing on the stock market and selecting the right financial advisors.
“Many entrepreneurs find accessing funding difficult, while funders, in turn, complain about the lack of fundable businesses available,” said Jenny Retief, chief executive officer (CEO) of Riversands Incubation Hub.
“This event aims to bridge this disconnect by giving ‘beyond the brochure’ insights into how banks, government funders and investors evaluate a business. We will also highlight some of the innovative funding mechanisms which are now available for entrepreneurs.”
She said it was important for entrepreneurs to diversify their wealth and income beyond their businesses.
