African tech entrepreneur investment platform Ingressive is to hold a week-long Tour of Tech in Lagos, Nigeria, which will see executives from the likes of 500 Startups and GitHub visit the city to meet developers and startups.
Ingressive has a 5,000-member investor and mentor network focused on innovative African technology, and will be hosting the tour on November 15-20.
Attendees include New Relic CIO Yvonne Wassenaar, Intuit CSO Grieg Coppe, 500 Startups partner Monique Woodard, five executives from GitHub, and a cohort of private investors. The guests are looking to work with and train local entrepreneurs and developers.
Investors, developers, startup founders and tech enthusiasts from anywhere in Nigeria are invited to apply to join Ingressive November 17 for a closed training and partnership event.
“We are thrilled host this diverse group of tech executives in Lagos. Some are here independently as a strictly exploratory opportunity, others from our group are here to close deals. They plan to invest, source local talent, partner with interesting organisations and forge lasting relationships with hackers on-ground in a bid to form ties and bridge into the continent,” said Maya Horgan-Famodu, Ingressive founder and chief executive officer (CEO).
The Tour of Tech is the latest in a line of events by Ingressive to promote investment into the Nigerian tech industry, with previous tours having brought the likes of Y Combinator and Techstars to the country.
