The ten startups participating in Egyptian accelerator Startup Reactor are set to pitch for seed funding and cash prizes in December at the culminating showcase of the programme.
Disrupt Africa reported 11 startups were chosen as the finalists of accelerator programme Startup Reactor, run by Egyptian startup incubator Innoventures; narrowed down from an initial 25 shortlisted startups.
The Startup Reactor programme sees participants progress through five months of training and mentoring, as they develop their business model, prototype, brand and customer base.
The accelerator culminates in dual demo days – “Startup Nova: Entrepreneurship Explosion”, the official showcase event of the programme; as well as the annual Egyptian entrepreneurship ecosystem event, RiseUp Summit.
At both, the 10 startups graduating from Startup Reactor will pitch before an audience of investors, industry experts, media and fellow entrepreneurs.
The top three startups will receive seed funding, and up to EUR5,000 (US$5,325) in prizes; with funds provided by Innoventures’ partners VC4Africa and Oxfam Novib, under the Work in Progress! Alliance.
Startup Nova: Entrepreneurship Explosion takes place on December 6, and registration to attend is available here.
