Techstars managing director for Africa Yossi Hasson will be visiting Lagos, Nigeria this week to meet entrepreneurs as the application period for the Barclays Accelerator in Cape Town gets underway.
Applications opened last week for the Barclays Accelerator programme, powered by Techstars, a 13-week programme based in Cape Town aimed at supporting exceptional fintech entrepreneurs innovating in Africa’s financial services industry.
The Barclays Accelerator first came to Africa at the beginning of this year, with Barclays Africa signing initial collaboration agreements with seven of the 10 startups that took part in the programme.
Techstars’ Hasson will be in Lagos this week at Passion Incubator to meet with founders and answer questions about fintech, the Barclays Accelerator and what startups can expect from being a part of the programme.
The two-day meet and greet event will see selected startups have one-on-one office hours with Hasson on Thursday, December 8. Interested startups should send a one-pager here, detailing their company, the team and why they stand out from the competition.
On Friday, December 9, Hasson will host a fireside chat on the Barclays Accelerator. Interested startups can register here. Applications for the Barclays Accelerator are open here until February 5.
