African entrepreneurs have been invited to apply for the latest edition of the Rice Business Plan Competition, which offers graduate-level students the chance win over US$1.5 million in cash prizes.
The Rice Business Plan Competition is open to student startups from any country across the world, with applications invited from energy and cleantech, life science and biotech, and IT startups.
Winning teams will be provided with access to mentoring and training from experienced investors and entrepreneurs, opportunities to meet and network with venture capitalists and investors, and over US$1.5 million in total cash prizes.
Each team must have at least one member that is a current student, while postgraduate students or those in certificate programmes will not be accepted.
In all, 42 teams from all over the world will be selected to compete against each other at pitching events in April. Applications for the competition close on February 10, 2017.
