Wanos TCP Acceleration Boosts WAN Throughput

Wanos TCP Acceleration boosts slow TCP stacks by adding High Speed TCP techniques, TCP Window Scaling and selective acknowledgements to network traffic on the fly.

High latency is the Achilles heel of modern WANs and can have a dramatically negative effect on network performance.

Wanos Networks WAN optimization software is delivering impressive results and has been demonstrated to increase network throughput by up to ten fold in the field.

Antonie Henning MD of Wanos Networks had this to say about the critical importance of tackling the issue of TCP Acceleration:

“High latency can have a dramatic effect on network performance and it’s something we’ve set out to address with our TCP Acceleration feature.

The TCP Acceleration boosts legacy and poor performing TCP stacks on the fly to boost network performance over high latency network links. Additionally the WAN Optimization reduces network costs and accelerates network speeds through compression, byte-caching and related techniques.

Our solutions can be installed on dedicated physical appliances or can be quickly integrated by running the WAN Optimizer, as a virtual machine, on most popular hypervisors.

Apart from the negative effect packet loss and high delay can have on network performance, there are other considerations that feed into discussion.

More and more businesses are connecting their offices using low cost virtual private networks. VPN links typically have higher latency and packet compared to MPLS links and that’s a major problem in introducing low cost broadband links to enterprise networks.

When it comes to SLA’s, many broadband products provide a false sense of security. A critical business impacting link can be out of SLA for latency or loss for an hour per day and still meet good average monthly SLA’s. However, the effect on your business during that peak hour per day, can be dramatic.

Optimum network throughput is our mission in life and that’s precisely what we deliver for our customers.”

Wanos Networks are flexible and have a pricing plan that can be tailored to any business’s needs.

They even have a free option (Wanos Express) that smaller organizations can take advantage of to get their feet wet and test drive the product.

Wanos Networks can be contacted via their website and will happily supply a quote based on the basic information you’re invited to supply in their contact form.

Wanos Networks (Pty) Ltd are suppliers of Wanos WAN Optimization software. Wanos software provides 80% of premium benefits at 20% of the cost. It specifically addresses the needs of organizations where a premium WAN optimization solution is not financially viable. Wanos Networks (Pty) Ltd have become trusted partners of businesses in several countries since their foundation in 2013.
