Stellenbosch University incubator LaunchLab has partnered SustNet to launch a Water & Waste Management Challenge to look for solutions to the local, national and international water crisis.
Applications are open here for the challenge, which will commence with a workshop on March 23 to provide context for the current challenges to help potential participants identify solutions.
The challenge is looking for water and waste management solutions that improve the quality of water sources, water filtration and treatment solutions, water saving solutions, water and waste recycling solutions, and water and waste management solutions for agriculture.
Winning ideas will receive a share of ZAR50,000 (US$3,700) in seed funding and LaunchLab incubation support – including workspace, internet, portfolio manager and mentorship – to the value of ZAR80,000 (US$6,000).
“Attending the workshop will give you the opportunity to listen to and engage with experts who will help you to better understand the challenge, stimulate your thinking and provide clarity about the value of your idea,” LaunchLab said.
