Applications are open to the third Aspiring Innovators Programme, with selected startups to showcase their solutions at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo Africa 2017 in September.
The Aspiring Innovators Programme aims to highlight interesting African tech startups with something unique to offer enterprise organisations.
Sponsored by MTN Business, the programme has the dual goals of supporting the African startup technology scene, as well as providing symposium delegates access to innovative local technology providers.
Gartner research analysts will select the top applicants to present their solutions at the ITxpo Africa – which typically sees over 1,100 delegates attend; to be held in Cape Town on September 18-21.
They will also have the opportunity to talk with senior IT decision-makers who visit their stands.
“At last year’s event, the six selected South African companies took advantage of the opportunity to build their brand and expand their early customer base,” Gartner says.
To be eligible, startups applying must be based in Africa; the company must have fewer than 50 employees and less than ZAR20 million (US$1.58 million) in revenue; and the solution must support B2B or corporate B2C use cases . In addition, solutions must be in production or beta, with at least two customers.
Previous Aspiring Innovators participants can not re-apply.
Applications are open until March 30.
