Applications are open to the Takeda Young Entrepreneurship Award, offering up to JPY1 million (US$9,100) to entrepreneurs addressing real technological and social needs worldwide.
The Takeda Young Entrepreneurship Awards seek to reward young individuals trying to address local challenges through creative solutions.
The Awards are open to entrepreneurs in any geography or sector, but must be able to demonstrate technological or social impact.
“The Takeda Foundation believes that the challenging activities of young individuals trying to address real technological and social needs will lead to the creation of goods and services that enhance the well-being of people throughout the world, which is the mission of the Foundation,” the Japan-based organisation said.
The “Best Entrepreneur Award” carries a cash prize of JPY1 million (US$9,100); while a further five entrepreneurs will be awarded JPY200,000 (US$1,800) each.
Entrepreneurs can self-apply, or be nominated. Applicants must be aged under 40.
All applications will be judged on the basis of how creative and promising their project is, and its potential for enhancing the well-being of people in their target community.
