E-commerce startup Favizone has been named the winner of the Tunisian leg of the Seedstars World global seed-stage startups competition, and will now have the chance to pitch for up to US$500,000 in funding at the global final next year.
The 2017 edition of Seedstars World will see local events take place in more than 25 cities across all the regions of Africa, with new countries such as Cameroon, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mauritius, Madagascar, Sudan and Zambia added to the tour.
The winner from each country is invited to the final at the Seedstars Global Summit in Switzerland to compete for up to US$500,000 in equity investment, a prize that has previously been won by Nigeria’s SimplePay and South Africa’s Giraffe.
Favizone will represent Tunisia at the global final, having beaten off competition from gaming startup WanaGames and online fashion store Dabchy, who came second and third respectively.
Favizone taps into customers’ past preferences and real-time behaviour to deliver one-to-one recommendations across all channels, while also boosting a merchant’s e-commerce website performance.
The startup will also be invited to represent their country at the Regional Summit in Africa later this year.
