Global early-stage startups competition for emerging markets Seedstars World has selected the 10 Nigerian startups that will pitch at its event in Lagos on Friday, August 25.
Seedstars World, which is hosting local events across Africa ahead of the global final, has already picked winners in Mozambique, Tunisia, Tanzania, South Africa and Uganda.
The winning startup from each local competition will earn the chance to pitch at the global final in Switzerland next year for the chance to secure US$500,000 in equity investment, as well as other prizes.
The 10 startups selected to pitch at the event include AI-powered recruitment platform DropQue, ed-tech startup Edves, developer-finding platform eWorker, data collection startup GetJama and recycling-focused social marketplace irecycle.
E-health startup Medsaf, e-delivery startup Parcel-it, on-demand dry cleaning service Safi.ng, fintech startup Wallet.ng, and professional services network Wesabi complete the list.
The companies were nominated based on their perceived regional and global scalability as well as their date of incorporation being less than two years ago, evidence of a minimum viable product (MVP), and received funding amounting to less than US$500,000.
