How to pitch your fintech startup in London

African fintech startups have been invited to apply for the PitchIt competition at the LendIt Europe conference in London in October, which will offer selected finalists access to industry experts and invaluable exposure and branding.

Applications for PitchIt – which is hosted by Capital One in collaboration with LendIt and takes places in October – are open here until September 4, after which eight finalists will be selected.

These finalists will be offered funding opportunities via meetings with global VCs and investors, the chance to have their pitch heard by the international fintech community, mentorship by renowned VCs and the Startupbootcamp accelerator, and exposure through global PR.

One overall winner will be selected at the event, with this startup receiving ongoing mentoring from experts associated with Capital One Growth Labs via a personalised plan to help their development, and access the necessary expertise and capabilities to help their startup grow.

“This exclusive programme will nurture emerging talent throughout the competition, provide selected finalists with unparalleled access to industry expertise as well as invaluable exposure, branding and more at the event,” the organisers said.

Last year, Kenyan startup PesaZetu competed in the competition. The startup operates a mobile-based peer-to-peer lending marketplace, with users topping up their lending account via mobile money.
