Seedstars to hold annual Africa Summit in Mozambique

0
By Tom Jackson on September 13, 2017 Events, Southern Africa

Global early-stage startups competition Seedstars World has announced its annual Africa Summit will take place in Maputo, Mozambique on December 11-14.

Seedstars World is hosting local events across Africa this year, and has already picked winners in Mozambique, Tunisia, Tanzania, South Africa, Uganda, Ethiopia and Nigeria.

Winners of local events, plus ecosystem players, mentors, investors, corporates and other entrepreneurs, will be in attendance at this year’s Africa Regional Summit, which is hosted by local ambassador organisation UX Information Technologies.

The event will last for three days and bring together over 800 attendees, commencing with a bootcamp for the participating startups, an ecosystem tour and investor day, and culminating with a conference and pitch event on December 14.

“We have been on a long and interesting journey when it comes to entrepreneurship and technology in emerging markets. As part of the Seedstars DNA, we want to be on the ground working directly with startups, corporates and other stakeholders. This is exactly the reason why we are travelling to more than 88 ecosystems globally this year, and over 20 countries in Africa,” said Claudia Makadristo, Seedstars regional manager for Africa.

“We are very excited to be able to bring the entire network together in Mozambique later this year and together look into some of the opportunities of the continent and explore how technologies can rapidly improve the current status quo in emerging markets worldwide.”

The summit is open to the public, with tickets available here.
